Advance care mandate
In an advance care mandate, you name a person who should represent you in personal, financial and legal matters if you lose capacity.
To be valid, the document must be written entirely by hand, dated and signed, or publicly notarised. We help structure the content and can coordinate notarisation if required.
The mandate only becomes effective once the responsible KESB has reviewed the requirements.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
When does an advance care mandate take effect?
It takes effect once incapacity has been confirmed and the responsible KESB has reviewed its validity, the suitability of the appointed person and the other requirements.
Is a living will binding?
A dated and hand-signed living will is generally binding for treating doctors. The clearer and more current it is, the fewer questions of interpretation arise.
Where can I deposit planning documents?
Trusted persons should know where they are kept. The civil registry office can record that an advance care mandate exists and where it is deposited. Nisio can keep documents on request.
